Earthen Luminaries

Analuisa Corrigan is an artist based between Los Angeles and New York. She has been creating work within several mediums, including clay, paint and printed matter, for the past 10 years. After receiving a BFA from Parsons School of Design, she was eager to explore spatial design with a focus on material and function. Her work explores figurative shapes and their innate matter, language and sensation. She is concerned with the fragility and integrity of clay as a material and practice, where she values the exchange between process and time.

Founded by Raquel Vidal & Pedro Paz, Canoa Lab is contemporary ceramics studio rooted in the classics. Inspired largely by archaeology and ancient Mediterranean vessels, the studio experiments with unique casting, coiling, and glazing techniques to offer a contemporary reinterpretation of timeless forms. Each piece is delicately handcrafted by the designers in their studio based in Valencia, Spain.

Ceramicah is a Los Angeles ceramics studio by Micah Blyckert and Alexandra Cadiz. As a ceramicist since childhood, Micah is the artist behind Ceramicah’s wheel-thrown lamps and vessels while Alexandra runs the brand and operations. Both former Architects, the pair are influenced by their love of organic forms and textures, as well as the landscape of California. Micah’s deep curiosity for how things work, his supreme attention to detail and focus on materiality and precision have led to developing designs that are quickly establishing Ceramicah as a staple in the industry.

Ellen Pong (b.1995, Bellevue, Washington) is a ceramicist and designer based in Queens, New York. Her sculptural furniture and art objects have been shown by galleries like Superhouse, Marta, and Objective, and featured in publications like Curbed, Metropolis, and Elle Decor. She was listed on Sight Unseen’s American Design Hot List 2021. Ellen graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a bachelor’s degree in History of Art. 

LGS's work is not of one person, one voice, but rather a rich duality. Thomas Renaud is a self-taught ceramist who draws inspiration from architecture, commencing with his Floridian coastal roots, and ancient vessels from his worldly travels. Noel Hennessy studied painting, photography, and sculpture at School of The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and is influenced by geological formations and imagined civilizations of the future. Together, they form LGS, a Los Angeles-based collaborative design and ceramic art studio with a robust collection of work, including sculptural decor, lighting, and vessels.

With Renaud's skilled wheel-throwing ability and Hennessy's unique hand-building and finishing techniques, they express their united vision: to produce work that transcends time and place. However, what distinguishes LGS's method from familiar wheel-throwing and conventional glaze techniques is they accentuate a silhouette and create a new texture by adding or subtracting elements. Their surface manipulation results in a piece that provokes us to ask, “When is this from?" Thus, their oeuvre only can be classified as "New Relics," objects that balance both past and future.

Marta Bonilla Designs and creates her pieces in Barcelona where her workshop is located. When she started with ceramics, she became enamored with the material and the freedom it allowed when working and designing.


Each piece is handmade. Her motivation when working is to retain the object’s naturalness and the traces of the creation process. That the object is beautiful in itself is another of her objectives, she is fascinated that while an object does not perform its main function the object becomes decorative.

Founded in 2020, memòri is a studio whereby distinct disciplines of craft connect, intersect and transmit through questioning and continuing artisanal practices and customs. It is an ode to remarkable traditions and craftsmanship that has its roots in a distinctive area of the Mediterranean basin. It aims to revive and rekindle the collective memory.

Nicholas Bijan Pourfard is a designer based in Southern California. His work explores functionality and high-end design with a focus on the user’s experience. Pieces range from custom lighting to handmade wooden furniture. Since launching his line of furniture and lighting, Pourfard's work has been recognized by Sight Unseen, New York Magazine, Bloomberg Business Week, Elle Decor, AD, and Popeye.

Yuko Nishikawa is a a Brooklyn-based Japanese designer and contemporary ceramicist specializing in fantastical lighting, whimsical decor accessories and collectible objet d'art. With an Interior and Industrial Design background, Nishikawa handcrafts one-of-a-kind lamps, chandeliers, sculptures, vases and tableware. Yuko also organizes Salon at Forest, a gathering and conversation of creative minds in her studio space.

Yuko makes objects and spaces drawing inspiration from ideas that we tend to think normal and investigate and offer alternatives in a joyful way. She creates functions and rules for imaginary places and objects and use these ideas to create physical forms in ceramics.
