Gene Cooper is a retired professor from California State University, Long Beach, and lifelong friend of Wayne Thiebaud. Julia Friedman is a Russian-born independent art historian and writer based in Los Angeles. Rachel Teagle is the founding director of the Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at the University of California, Davis.
